You're so awesome.
I've heard many boat people stories in the last little while and they all make me want to cry. May's dad said that 2 million people left Viet Nam, and that only 1 million made it out alive. 1 million people... that is comparable to a good chunk of Toronto. 1 million people died out at sea or at the hands of pirates, or even worse, at the hands of the Viet Cong. The 1 million that did make it out were separated from family members and were forced to learn how to exist in a new world. Yet these 1 million were given a chance to live in freedom. These 1 million are our parents. We should make every effort to learn about their incredible journey. - Ray Huynh
